Velo and corona
Good news for all Velo users: even in these extraordinary times, you can still use Velo's bikes. The best thing, of course, is to just stay at home, but there are still a great deal of people who have no choice but to move around. For example, people who work in healthcare and in supermarkets. The good news is Velo will be there for everyone who currently needs a bike.
Is it safe to ride with Velo?
Yes. But please abide by the hygiene rules:
- Keep your distance from other road users.
- Wash your hands with soap before and after cycling.
- Cough or sneeze into a handkerchief or into your elbow.
If you adhere to these regulations, the Velo is, as things stand, one of the safest forms of public transport.
Are the velos disinfected?
Defective bikes that are brought to us for repair are disinfected. In so doing, we treat the handlebar grips and brake levers, as well as the lever for adjusting the saddle. Unfortunately, it isn't possible to disinfect every Velo after each normal use. However, if you adhere to the recommended hygiene rules, our bikes are fully safe to use.
Safe velos for everyone
Your safety and that of our employees is a priority. Therefore, only move from A to B if absolutely necessary. Would you like to know how you can be even more responsible in these extraordinary times? Look at info-coronavirus.be.
We remain accessible
The Velo desk at the Mediaplein is currently closed, but we are busy behind the scenes making sure Velo remains operational. All you have to do is continue using the app and the user area on the site. Contact us at +32 (0) 3 206 50 30 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
